Mountains were her great passion, and she conquered a total of 8 of the 14 eight-thousanders, the world’s highest peaks. She described her expeditions in mountaineering magazines. She was one of the strong advocates and determined realizers of full climbing independence for women, even organizing such expeditions herself.
